Here we will show you two different procedures you can use to calculate the cube root of 2 divided by the cube root of 16. In other words, we will show you how to calculate ∛2 ÷ ∛16 two different ways.
Procedure 1
This may be the most obvious procedure, where you first calculate the cube root of each number, and then divide the result, like this:
∛2 ≈ 1.2599
∛16 ≈ 2.5198
1.2599 ÷ 2.5198 = 0.5
∛2 ÷ ∛16 = 0.5
Procedure 2
This procedure may be the fastest. Since ∛2 ÷ ∛16 is the same as ∛(34/56), you can first divide the numbers, and then find the cube root of the quotient, like this:
2 ÷ 16 = 0.125
∛0.125 = 0.5
∛2 ÷ ∛16 = 0.5
