∛6 ÷ ∛27

Dividing Cube Roots

Here we will show you two different procedures you can use to calculate the cube root of 6 divided by the cube root of 27. In other words, we will show you how to calculate ∛6 ÷ ∛27 two different ways.

Procedure 1
This may be the most obvious procedure, where you first calculate the cube root of each number, and then divide the result, like this:

∛6 ≈ 1.8171
∛27 = 3
1.8171 ÷ 3 = 0.6057
∛6 ÷ ∛27 = 0.6057

Procedure 2
This procedure may be the fastest. Since ∛6 ÷ ∛27 is the same as ∛(34/56), you can first divide the numbers, and then find the cube root of the quotient, like this:

6 ÷ 27 ≈ 0.222222
∛0.222222 = 0.6057
∛6 ÷ ∛27 = 0.6057
