Here we will show you two different procedures you can use to calculate the cube root of 5 divided by the cube root of 9. In other words, we will show you how to calculate ∛5 ÷ ∛9 two different ways.
Procedure 1
This may be the most obvious procedure, where you first calculate the cube root of each number, and then divide the result, like this:
∛5 ≈ 1.71
∛9 ≈ 2.0801
1.71 ÷ 2.0801 ≈ 0.8221
∛5 ÷ ∛9 ≈ 0.8221
Procedure 2
This procedure may be the fastest. Since ∛5 ÷ ∛9 is the same as ∛(34/56), you can first divide the numbers, and then find the cube root of the quotient, like this:
5 ÷ 9 ≈ 0.555556
∛0.555556 ≈ 0.8221
∛5 ÷ ∛9 ≈ 0.8221
