Here we will show you two different procedures you can use to calculate the cube root of 20 divided by the cube root of 12. In other words, we will show you how to calculate ∛20 ÷ ∛12 two different ways.
Procedure 1
This may be the most obvious procedure, where you first calculate the cube root of each number, and then divide the result, like this:
∛20 ≈ 2.7144
∛12 ≈ 2.2894
2.7144 ÷ 2.2894 ≈ 1.1856
∛20 ÷ ∛12 ≈ 1.1856
Procedure 2
This procedure may be the fastest. Since ∛20 ÷ ∛12 is the same as ∛(34/56), you can first divide the numbers, and then find the cube root of the quotient, like this:
20 ÷ 12 ≈ 1.666667
∛1.666667 ≈ 1.1856
∛20 ÷ ∛12 ≈ 1.1856
