Here we will show you two different procedures you can use to calculate the cube root of 2 divided by the cube root of 4. In other words, we will show you how to calculate ∛2 ÷ ∛4 two different ways.
Procedure 1
This may be the most obvious procedure, where you first calculate the cube root of each number, and then divide the result, like this:
∛2 ≈ 1.2599
∛4 ≈ 1.5874
1.2599 ÷ 1.5874 ≈ 0.7937
∛2 ÷ ∛4 ≈ 0.7937
Procedure 2
This procedure may be the fastest. Since ∛2 ÷ ∛4 is the same as ∛(34/56), you can first divide the numbers, and then find the cube root of the quotient, like this:
2 ÷ 4 = 0.5
∛0.5 ≈ 0.7937
∛2 ÷ ∛4 ≈ 0.7937
